What the case is about
The case is Guzman et al. v. Dr. Squatch, LLC, filed in the Superior Court of California in Los Angeles. It covers Dr. Squatch products that carried the word “natural” on the label while allegedly containing synthetic ingredients — soap bars, deodorant, cologne, toothpaste and the rest of the personal care line. Like most labelling cases, this is about how a product was marketed rather than anyone being harmed. Nobody is claiming the soap hurt them.
Who qualifies
You bought one or more covered products in the United States between November 1, 2018 and August 29, 2026. You bought them for yourself and not to resell. And nobody else at your address has already filed, because the settlement allows one claim per household — household here means everyone living at the same physical address. Those are the only tests. No receipt is needed for a basic claim, and no Notice ID either.
How much you can get
Fifty cents per product. Without receipts you can claim up to five products, so about $2.50 is the realistic ceiling for most people. If you kept receipts you can claim up to twenty more at the same rate, taking the maximum to $12.50 — but that means digging out proof of purchase going back to 2018. It is also one where the per-product figure moves, because s2.48 of the agreement adjusts the fifty cents pro rata if the total value of valid claims comes out above or below the settlement amount. The final number can land either side of $2.50.
How to file
The official site is PersonalCareProductsSettlement.com, and filing online lets you pick a digital payment method. If you would rather post it, the mail-in form goes to the Dr. Squatch Settlement Administrator at P.O. Box 1389, Baton Rouge, LA 70821, and a mailed claim is paid by check to the address on the form. You fill in your name, address, email and phone, tick the box for products without proof of purchase, write in how many you bought up to five, and sign the attestation in Part C under penalty of perjury. That signature is required — a form without it is not eligible for anything. The claim must be postmarked no later than November 27, 2026.
