About Class Action Buddy

We help consumers actually collect the class action settlement money they're owed. Most settlement notices end up in the trash — Buddy makes sure they get filed instead.

Why we built this

Class action settlements pay out billions of dollars every year — but most of that money goes to cy pres charities or back to the defendant because consumers never file their claims. Take-up rates on most consumer-product settlements are under 15%.

The reason is friction: filing a claim takes 10-15 minutes per settlement, the notices look like junk mail, and the deadlines are easy to miss. Class Action Buddy collapses all of that into a 60-second flow that auto-fills the form using your saved profile.

Editorial standards

Every settlement we list on this site is real, court-approved, and currently accepting claims. We verify each settlement via:

  • Court records (PACER) — every settlement has a verifiable federal or state case number.
  • Settlement administrator websites — confirms the case is post-preliminary-approval and accepting claims.
  • Class definitions in the official notice — eligibility data is sourced from the legally-binding notice, not third-party summaries.
  • Daily monitoring — our scrapers monitor court filings, administrator announcements, and FTC/state AG press releases.

We do not list settlements without verifying their court approval. Our public-facing settlement count (200+) reflects only actively-filable cases — closed settlements move to our archive.

How we verify every settlement

Every settlement page is built from primary sources — the actual case, not a summary copied from another settlement blog. Before a listing goes live we cross-check three documents:

  • The official claims administrator. The court appoints a third-party administrator to run each settlement and host the real claim form. We link to that administrator's site and pull the claim URL, required fields, and payment options directly from it.
  • The court docket. We confirm the case number and the preliminary- and final-approval orders on PACER or the state e-filing system, so every settlement we list is genuinely court-approved — not a scam or a look-alike claim site.
  • The legally-binding class notice. Eligibility, proof-of-purchase requirements, payout tiers, and the claim deadline all come from the official notice — the document that actually governs the settlement — rather than a third-party rewrite.

Deadlines and our 7-day mailing buffer. Claim deadlines are copied verbatim from the official notice. Because some settlements still require a signed paper claim to be printed and mailed, we stop showing a settlement as open seven days before its real deadline — that buffer leaves time for postage so a claim you start with us can actually arrive on time.

When a settlement closes. Our discovery pipeline re-checks every listing daily. Once a claim deadline has passed, the settlement is marked closed, removed from the active and in-app filable lists, and its page is archived or clearly labeled as closed so no one wastes time on a claim that can no longer be filed.

What Class Action Buddy is — and isn't

What Class Action Buddy is: a self-service software tool. We auto-fill claim forms using your saved profile so you can review, sign, and submit each one yourself. You decide which settlements to file. You sign every form. The settlement money is paid directly to you.

What Class Action Buddy is not: a law firm, a third-party claims-filing service, or a contingency-fee operation. We are not your lawyer. We do not represent you in any legal capacity. We do not take a percentage of your settlement money. Our revenue comes from the subscription, not from your payouts.

Disclosures

  • Not legal advice. Everything on this site is general information to help you find and file settlements you may qualify for. It is not legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney–client relationship. For advice about your specific situation, talk to a licensed attorney.
  • Independent and unaffiliated. Class Action Buddy is an independent directory and software tool. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or acting on behalf of any settlement administrator, law firm, defendant, or court. We use official case and administrator names only to identify the settlements we describe.
  • How we make money. The app is free to download and your first claim each month is free. Beyond that we charge a flat subscription — never a percentage of your settlement. Your payout is sent directly from the settlement administrator to you; it never passes through us.
  • No pay-for-placement. We do not accept payment from law firms, settlement administrators, or defendants to list, rank, or promote any settlement. A settlement is listed only if it is real, court-approved, and open.
