Cash Payment B

If your information was affected by the May 2024 cyberattack at Gas Express LLC d/b/a Circle K, you may be entitled to a $50 cash payment with no documentation, or up to $2,000 if you can show out-of-pocket losses tied to the breach. Most affected people received a written or emailed notice with a Claim ID, but you can file with just your name and mailing address if you don’t have one.

Gas Express — the largest U.S. Circle K franchisee — disclosed that a targeted cyberattack on May 20, 2024 exposed names, driver’s license numbers, and Social Security numbers. The settlement covers people the company directly notified. Payments are made via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, virtual prepaid card, or physical check.

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible to file a claim if your personal information was exposed in the May 2024 cyberattack at Gas Express d/b/a Circle K (the largest U.S. Circle K franchisee). You don’t need to have kept the notice that was mailed or emailed to affected individuals — the settlement administrator verifies class membership by name and mailing address.

To make filing faster, you can:

  • Use the Claim ID and PIN from your breach notice if you have it (skips the verification step)
  • Or just provide your name and mailing address — the administrator looks you up against the class list
  • If you think you should have received a notice but didn’t, email info@GasExpressDataSettlement.com with your name and mailing address to confirm class membership

U.S. residents are eligible. There’s no state-by-state restriction.

How Much Can You Get?

The settlement offers two cash tracks:

  • Cash Payment B — Alternate Cash ($50): One-time payment with no proof. Most people will pick this. Paid via PayPal, Venmo, Zelle, virtual prepaid card, or physical check.
  • Cash Payment A — Documented Losses (up to $2,000): Reimburses out-of-pocket expenses tied to the breach between May 20, 2024 and September 3, 2026 — identity-theft losses, credit-monitoring fees, ID replacement costs, postage to contact banks. Capped at $45,000 in aggregate across all Cash Payment A claims, so file early if you have receipts.

Separately, every eligible class member can request 2 years of free credit monitoring with $1 million in fraud insurance, regardless of which cash option they elect.
