Laboratory Services Cooperative is not a name most people would recognize, and that is exactly why this settlement is being missed. LSC is a Seattle nonprofit that ran lab testing for selected Planned Parenthood health centers across 30 states and the District of Columbia. If you had testing done at one of those centers, your record went to LSC, not to the clinic you walked into.
LSC found an intruder on its network on October 27, 2024. It notified about 1.6 million people on April 10, 2025. The resulting case, In re Laboratory Services Cooperative Data Breach Litigation, sits in federal court in Seattle, and LSC has agreed to a $6.1 million settlement without admitting it did anything wrong.
Who can claim
Anyone who had lab testing through a participating Planned Parenthood center is covered. So are current and former LSC employees, whose own records were caught in the same incident. So is anyone who paid for another person's testing, which catches parents and partners who never had an appointment themselves.
The covered places are Alaska, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, New Hampshire, New Mexico, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Vermont, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin, Wyoming and Washington, DC. Not every center in those places used LSC for lab work.
What it pays
The cash is divided pro rata from the fund with a ceiling of $1,000 per person. After legal fees and the cost of running the settlement, roughly $3 million to $3.5 million is left to share out.
Our estimate is $90 to $300, and the reasoning matters. Split 1.6 million ways, that pool would pay a few dollars each. Claim rates on this one will almost certainly run low, because filing means putting your name to a form that discloses a Planned Parenthood visit. Fewer filers means larger individual payments.

The privacy question, answered honestly
There is no version of this claim that does not tell the settlement administrator you were connected to a Planned Parenthood center. That is true whether you file yourself or through us, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling something.
What we can control is our end. The app asks for your consent before collecting any health answer, Washington law requires that, and it deletes those answers 14 days after your form is mailed. Our consumer health privacy policy sets out exactly what is kept and for how long.
Deadlines
Claims close November 24, 2026. Through the app the cutoff is November 17, which leaves seven days for printing and postage.
You do not need the Notice ID from your letter. It speeds matching up if you have it, and the administrator checks names against its records if you do not.
