What's covered

Edge cases people often ask about

You qualify even if you bought the product as a gift for a California pet owner, as long as the purchase was in California. If you moved out of California after buying, you still qualify — the rule is residency at the time of purchase. Veterinary purchases through a California vet's office count. Online purchases shipped to a California address count.

No-proof rules

You can claim up to 6 units without proof of purchase — that's where the $150 maximum comes from (6 × $25). Want to claim more than 6? You'll need receipts, credit card statements, vet records, or Amazon order history. Most people stick with the 6-unit no-proof maximum.
