When Will the Cosequin Settlement Pay Out?
Updated June 2026 · Estimated payment window: 6-12 months after July 21, 2026
Max payout: $150 per household ($25 × 6 units max). The Cosequin settlement creates an $11.5 million fund. After attorneys' fees (typically 25-33%) and administration costs, the remainder is divided among valid claimants. The per-unit rate is fixed at $25 (up to 6 units), but if the fund runs short, payments can be reduced pro rata.
How the math works
If 100,000 valid claims are filed averaging 4 units each, that's 400,000 units × $25 = $10 million in claims. With ~$7.5 million net fund after fees, claimants would receive about 75% of the stated rate — meaning ~$19 per unit instead of $25. If fewer people file, payouts go up; if more file, they go down.
