Who Is Eligible?
You may be eligible to file a claim if you:
- You are or were a Schnucks Rewards Member who redeemed Rewards Points on a purchase of tax-eligible items, primarily for personal, family, or household purposes
- The purchase was at a Missouri Schnucks store — in person or online — between May 2, 2020 and August 7, 2026
- No receipts are needed; postcard recipients file with the Access Code and PIN on the card, and a paper form is downloadable for everyone else
How Much Can You Get?
A flat $7.00 cash payment per class member who files a timely, valid claim — you pick the payment method on the form. Uncashed payments go to ArchCity Defenders or another nonprofit, and the settlement states plainly that no unclaimed money ever reverts to Schnucks. Separately, Schnucks must fix its point-of-sale system by March 31, 2027 so Rewards redemptions reduce the taxable subtotal on all future Missouri purchases. How to File Your Claim
File with the administrator:
- File online at the official settlement site — via the link in your email, or with the Access Code and PIN from your postcard — by 11:59 PM Central on November 3, 2026
- Or download the paper Claim Form (or request one from Rust Consulting) and mail it postmarked by November 3, 2026
- Exclusions and objections share the same November 3 postmark deadline; the final approval hearing is December 4, 2026 in Clayton, Missouri

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the deadline to file a claim for the Schnucks Missouri Rewards Tax Settlement (Flat $7)?
The current deadline to file a claim is Nov 03, 2026. Claims sent by mail must be postmarked by this date, so allow about a week for delivery if you are not filing online.
Do I need proof of purchase for the Schnucks Missouri Rewards Tax Settlement (Flat $7)?
No proof of purchase is required — you can typically file based on a sworn statement, without receipts, photos, or product packaging. You also do not need a Claimant ID or PIN to file.
How do I file a claim for the Schnucks Missouri Rewards Tax Settlement (Flat $7)?
File directly with the settlement administrator, using the official claim form linked on this page. Class Action Buddy does not support this settlement in the app, so the administrator’s own claim process is the route. Check whether the form asks for an ID or PIN from the notice you were sent before you start.
How much does the Schnucks tax settlement pay?
A flat $7.00 per class member who files a valid claim — not a pro rata amount. Uncashed payments go to a nonprofit, never back to Schnucks, and the company must also fix its registers by March 31, 2027 so Rewards redemptions lower the taxable subtotal.
Who qualifies for the Garcia v. Schnuck Market settlement?
Schnucks Rewards Members who redeemed Rewards Points on tax-eligible, primarily personal purchases at Missouri Schnucks stores between May 2, 2020 and August 7, 2026, whether in-store or online. Schnucks denies wrongdoing.
What was the Schnucks sales tax lawsuit about?
The suit alleged that when customers redeemed Rewards Points, Schnucks' Missouri stores calculated sales tax on the full pre-discount price rather than the lower discounted price — charging tax on money shoppers never actually spent.
What is the deadline for the Schnucks settlement?
November 3, 2026 for everything: online claims by 11:59 PM Central, mailed claims postmarked, and exclusion requests and objections postmarked. The final approval hearing is December 4, 2026 in the Circuit Court of St. Louis County.
