Sutter Health has agreed to pay $21.5 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging the healthcare provider used third-party tracking technologies on its MyHealthOnline patient portal that improperly disclosed patients' personal health information to outside companies without consent.
The lawsuit, Jane Doe I, et al. v. Sutter Health (Case No. 34-2019-00258072-CU-BT-GDS), was filed in California state court. If you were a California resident who logged into your Sutter Health MyHealthOnline portal account for your own healthcare purposes between June 10, 2015, and March 20, 2020, you may be eligible for up to $90 in compensation.
