Pawn America has agreed to pay $3.185 million to settle a class action lawsuit over a data breach that occurred in September 2021, compromising personal information of customers of Pawn America, Payday America, and PAL Card Minnesota.
The case, In re Pawn America Consumer Data Breach Litigation (Case No. 21-cv-02554), was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota. If you received a notification letter about the breach in October 2021, you may be eligible for at least $30 with no documentation needed, or up to $5,000 for documented losses.
You may be eligible to file a claim if you:
Classwide payment: $30 per person (no documentation needed).
California residents (Sept-Oct 2021): Additional $50 on top of the classwide payment.
Documented losses: Up to $5,000 with proof (fraudulent charges, identity theft costs, credit monitoring, professional fees).
Maximum potential: $5,080 for California residents with documented losses.
