Who Is Eligible?
You may be eligible to file a claim if you:
- You lived in the United States or its territories and, between May 18, 2016 and March 19, 2026, either owned a Google-made device or had communications recorded by Google Assistant.
- Purchaser Class: you bought a Google Home, Home Mini, Home Max, Nest Hub, or Nest Hub Max, or a Google Pixel phone.
- Privacy Class: your conversations were recorded or collected by Google Assistant on any compatible device — even if you never bought a Google device.
- You can belong to both classes (for example, you bought a Nest Hub and also used Assistant on your phone).
How Much Can You Get?
The $68 million fund is paid out on a points basis. Purchaser Class members earn up to 4 points per eligible device, and Privacy Class members earn 1 point. Each point's dollar value depends on how many valid claims are filed, so payments are pro-rata. Based on the settlement's own estimates, device purchasers may receive roughly $18 to $56 per device. Final amounts are calculated after the claim period closes on August 27, 2026.
How to File Your Claim
Filing your claim is quick and easy:
- Confirm you qualify — a U.S. resident who owned a Google device or used Google Assistant between May 18, 2016 and March 19, 2026.
- File by August 27, 2026 — the claim deadline. Mailed claims must be postmarked by this date, and Class Action Buddy ships claim forms with a 7-day mailing buffer.
- Privacy Class claims need no proof. Purchaser Class claims may ask for device details (and, for larger device counts, proof of purchase). You can file even without a Unique ID using the official form's "no Unique ID" option.
- Pick how you want to be paid and save your confirmation. Class Action Buddy auto-fills the official claim form so you can file in about 60 seconds.
