How to Find Class Actions You Qualify For
By Timo Bakker · July 3, 2026 · 5 min read
You have heard people talk about getting settlement checks. You want in. Here are the three fastest ways to find out which currently-open class action settlements you personally qualify for.
Method 1: The Class Action Buddy eligibility checker (fastest)
Our 60-second eligibility checker asks a few profile questions (state, common purchases, account history) and returns the specific currently-open settlements you qualify for. It is the fastest way. Free.
Method 2: Browse the settlement directory manually
The settlement directory lists every currently-open settlement with eligibility criteria in plain English. Filter by no-proof to see the easiest ones, or by state. Slower than the eligibility checker, but more thorough — you can see settlements you might not have thought about.
Method 3: Search your inbox for “class action” or “settlement notice”
Legitimate settlement notices are often emailed to affected class members. Search your inbox — and check spam / promotions folders — for “class action,” “settlement notice,” or “legal notice.” If you find one, the eligibility criteria and claim link are in the email.
Categories where you almost certainly qualify
- Data breach settlements. If you had accounts with Equifax, T-Mobile, LinkedIn, Yahoo, or any large company in the past 10 years, you were probably in at least one breach dataset.
- Privacy tracking settlements. Google, Meta, TikTok have all had privacy settlements affecting hundreds of millions of US users. If you have used any of them, you likely qualify for something.
- Consumer product recalls. Every year there are settlements for common products — if you bought waffles, toothpaste, mattresses, joint supplements, or many other everyday items in the last 3-5 years, there is a decent chance one qualifies.
Bottom line
The Class Action Buddy eligibility checker is the highest-leverage 60 seconds you can spend on this. Try it.
