Google has agreed to pay $5 million to settle a class action lawsuit alleging the company automatically renewed Google Play subscriptions without adequate notice or consent to California consumers.
The case, Uzair, et al. v. Google LLC (Case No. 18-CV-328915), was filed in the Superior Court of California, County of Santa Clara. If you are a California resident who paid for at least one renewal of a Google Play subscription between May 30, 2014, and October 27, 2019, you may be eligible for approximately $5.85 in compensation.
