Bestway Above-Ground Pool Settlement

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible to file a claim if you:

• The class covers anyone in the United States, its territories or the District of Columbia who bought a Bestway-branded above-ground pool 48 inches or taller, with compression straps located outside the support poles, sold from 2008 through 2024.
• Brand names to look for are Power Steel, Steel Pro and Coleman Power Steel. All of them are Bestway-branded, which is why a pool badged Coleman still counts.
• The strap position is the whole point. If the compression straps run inside the vertical support legs, the pool is not a class product, however similar it looks.
• Second-hand purchases are out. The claim form states it plainly: you must have purchased the pool from a retailer and not second-hand. Buying it for resale is also excluded, because the class is limited to purchases for personal use.
• One claim per household, not per pool. A household here means you together with everyone sharing your residential address, so a second pool in the same home does not produce a second payment.
• The purchase itself has to predate 4 May 2026, and any proof of purchase you rely on has to show a purchase on or before that date.
• What this settlement does not touch is worth knowing. It does not release claims for personal injury, bodily injury, emotional distress or wrongful death arising from these pools, and it does not limit or release anything under the pool recall, including remedies pursued through government action. Filing here does not sign away a claim for harm.

How Much Can You Get?

Two tiers, and most coverage only reports the lower one.

With a valid proof of purchase you receive 10% of the price. That is 10% of what you actually paid if the document shows a price, or 10% of the Average Retail Price of your model if it does not.

Without a valid proof of purchase you receive a flat $40.

Do the arithmetic before you default to $40. Ten percent of a $400 pool is $40, so any pool that cost more than $400 pays better with the receipt than without it. The more you paid, the wider that gap gets.

A valid proof of purchase is defined loosely enough to be worth chasing. The claim form calls it objectively verifiable documentation showing purchase on or before 4 May 2026, and names store receipts and online purchase receipts as examples, along with any other contemporaneous record that can be verified. An order confirmation email from a retailer is the sort of thing that qualifies.

The $15 million is a fund, not a pot of claimant money. It also pays notice and administration costs, attorneys' fees and costs, and service awards to the named plaintiffs, all subject to court approval at the fairness hearing.

Nothing is paid until the settlement is final. The fairness hearing is set for 20 November 2026 at 10:00 in the morning, Central time, and appeals after that can add more delay.

How to File Your Claim

File with the administrator:

• Look for a receipt first. It moves you from the $40 tier to the 10% tier, and on most pools of this size that is the difference worth having. Store receipts, online purchase receipts and order confirmation emails all count as long as they are verifiable and dated on or before 4 May 2026.
• Then get three things off the pool itself. The claim form requires the brand name, the dimensions, and either a model number or a serial number. Height in inches for every pool, plus the diameter if it is round or the width and length if it is oval.
• Serial numbers hide in a specific place. The form says they sit on the outside of the pool liner, usually near the drain valve or the pump inlet and outlet. You need the model number or the serial number, not both.
• File at poolsettlementbw.com. You can submit online, download the form and post it to Bestway Settlement Administrator, PO Box 1869, Baton Rouge, LA 70821, or ask for a paper copy on 1-855-789-5948. • The form is signed under attestation, so the details you give are a sworn statement rather than a rough recollection.
• There is a Settlement Claim ID box and it is optional. Not having received a notice does not stop you filing.
• Everything is due on 30 October 2026, whether you submit online or by post. That same date ends your chance to opt out or object, so if you want to keep your own right to sue over these pools, that is the day to act by.
