Dr. Squatch $9M "Natural" Labelling Settlement

Who Is Eligible?

You may be eligible to file a claim if you:

• You bought a Covered Product — the products Dr. Squatch labelled “natural”. Exhibit C to the settlement lists 19 categories, covering every size, scent and variety of the Men’s Natural bar soap, body wash, deodorant, cologne and cologne oil, beard oil, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, lotion to powder, face wash, hand soap, hand sanitiser, lip balm, post shave, shave butter, toothpaste and wipes.
• You bought it in the United States between 1 November 2018 and 29 August 2026. There is no state restriction.
• One Claim Form per household, where a household means everyone living at the same address. You cannot multiply the cap by filing separately for each person under one roof.
• You bought for yourself or your household. Anyone who bought the products for resale is excluded.
• Employees, officers, directors, agents and legal representatives of Dr. Squatch and its affiliates are excluded, along with their immediate families.

How Much Can You Get?

Two rates, and which one applies to you comes down entirely to paperwork.

Without proof of purchase, it is $0.50 per product for up to five products. Two dollars fifty.

With proof of purchase, it is $0.50 per product for up to twenty. Ten dollars. Proof means a receipt from the retailer, on paper or online, that reasonably establishes what you bought and when.

The two are cumulative, and the claim form works the example through itself: claim twenty proven units and five unproven, get paid for twenty-five, which is $12.50. That is the ceiling for one household.

Then the arithmetic moves. If the total value of valid claims runs over or under the fund, that $0.50 rate is adjusted pro rata — up if few people file, down if many do. Nobody knows the final number until claims close on 27 November 2026.

Worth saying plainly, because the $9 million headline invites the opposite impression: this is a small settlement per person. It is still free money for a form you can fill in on a phone, but it is not a windfall, and anyone telling you otherwise has not read the benefit schedule.

How to File Your Claim

File with the administrator:

• Count your Dr. Squatch purchases since 1 November 2018, and split them into two piles: the ones you can evidence with a retailer receipt, and the ones you cannot. The form asks for both numbers separately.
• Dig out the receipts if they exist. Each proven unit is worth the same $0.50 as an unproven one, but proof raises your cap from five units to twenty.
• File online at PersonalCareProductsSettlement.com, which is also where you choose how you want to be paid. The paper form goes to the Dr. Squatch Settlement Administrator, P.O. Box 1389, Baton Rouge, LA 70821 and must be postmarked by 27 November 2026.
• If you have receipts, file directly with the administrator. Class Action Buddy submits the no-proof claim — up to five products, $2.50 — because the app does not collect or post receipts, and the form warns that claiming the proof tier without attaching proof gets that portion cut. To claim the twenty-product tier, use the settlement site yourself.
• Only one form per household will be accepted, so agree the total before anyone files.
• You sign under penalty of perjury and the claim can be audited. Claim a number you could stand behind if asked.
